In the third paragraph after OKAK. Pearl recently finished her Championship and now has several Best of Breed awards to her credit.

Pearl was first in the Brood Bitch class at the Golden Gate LRC Specialty show, 10/09, under English breeder judge, Arwyn Ellis (Dolwen) followed by her puppies by CH Windfall Pipe Major—Marstad Primetime and Marstad Personal. She will be bred again early 2010.

Entering Open in 2007, Pearl won the Open Black Bitch class at the San Diego Lab Ret Club specialty, 2/17, under breeder/judge Lisa Weiss.

She was Winners Bitch & Best of Winners (4 pts) at the San Joaquin Valley LRC specialty show, 3/07, under breeder/judge Claire White-Peterson (Stonecrest), and Winners Bitch & Bost of Winners (4 pts) at the Sierra Vista LRC supported entry, Gold Country KC, 9/07, under breeder/judge Marilyn Little (Okak). Pearl needs only 4 minor points to finish her championship after taking the summer off to produce a litter by CH Windfall’s Pipe Major. She will be back in the show ring this fall.

At three years old Duchess is just ready for the show ring. She recently won the Open Black Bitch class at the Golden Gate LRC Specialty show, 10/09, under English breeder judge, Arwyn Ellis (Dolwen).

Deion has been fun to show in the Puppy class going Reserve Winners Dog isfirst time out from the 6-9 Month Puppy Dog class! He was RWD under breeder judge Jo Fleming (Blackwater) and won a huge 12-18 Month Dog class at the Golden Gate LRC Specialty show, 10/09, under English breeder judge, Arwyn Ellis (Dolwen).

Galileo Marstad Bleu Moon “Luna”

Thank you Chris Courtney for using Chester at stud and allowing me to adopt this fabulous example of a Labrador! Luna was BOS in Puppy Sweepstakes at the Golden Gate LRC specialty, 10/02 and 2nd place in the 12-18M Regular Class under breeder judge, Judith Charlton (Foxrush, UK). She is tremendously birdy and with points toward her breed championship, including a major.

Luna has produced lovely puppies by a variety of sires. Look for Marstad Boston Lager and Marstad Johnny Jump Up in 2010

CH Clarion Marstad Frangelica “Hazel”

Hazel finished her Breed Champion of Record title in record time beginning in August 2002 winning Winners Bitch at the Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association specialty show under breeder judge, Guy Spagnolo (Driftway, Australia) and completing it November 2002 under noted movement expert Pat Craig (Vin Melca, Norwegian Elkhounds). Along the way she was recognized by Labrador breeder judge Carol Jean Nelson (Avalon Labradors), WB & BOS Del Valle Dog Club, 10/02, and was BOB over specials at Sir Francis Drake KC both 9/14 & 15/02! As well as a correct Labrador coat of beautiful chocolate color, Hazel has all health clearances customary for Labradors. From the Veteran Bitch class, Hazel was awarded a Judges Award of Merit in Best of Breed at the Del Valle DC of Livermore show, 10/06, Golden Gate LRC supported entry, under breeder/judge Susan Willumsen (Wilcare).Hazel was recently awarded Best of Opposite Sex in the Veteran Sweepstakes at the Golden Gate LRC Specialty show, 10/09, under breeder judge, Dan Clark (Everwood).

Extra began her career in the conformation ring with a Best in Puppy Sweepstakes at the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern CA specialty show, 4/99, under breeder judge Marilyn Little (Okak). She has since won points exclusively from the Bred By Exhibitor class at both all breed shows and specialties. Her latest major win was at the Rose City Labrador Retriever Club specialty show, 7/01, going Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, and Best Bred By Exhibitor for 4 points under breeder judge Jane Borders (Braemar).

Other notable wins have been 1st in the 9-12M Puppy class and Reserve Winners Bitch under breeder judge, Erik Bergishagen (Jagersbo), Chief Solano KC, 4/99; 1st in the 12-18M class and Reserve Winners Bitch under breeder judge, Jan Grannemann (Janrod), Del Valle DC, 10/99; and 1st in the Bred By Exhibitor class and Reserve Winners Bitch under breeder judge, May Nasman (Alvagarden, Sweden), Labrador Retriever Club of Southern CA, 4/01.

Sam earned her AKC Hunting Retriever Junior Hunter title in October 2000. She briefly hit the conformation show ring and picked up a point from the Bred By Exhibitor class.

Sam is now retired, resting on her laurels as a coach potato.
